The goal of the Attorney-General’s Department is to help achieve a just and secure society. We do this by providing essential support and expert advice to the Australian Government on a wide range of policy and legal issues. We also help build the community’s capacity to respond to emergencies, combat organised crime and improve access to justice.
Our work covers an extremely diverse range of policy issues. Human rights, national security and international law are just some of the areas you can contribute to.
We are seeking graduates from disciplines including international studies, law and the humanities.
Our graduates will receive extensive support, including mentoring, and exciting career opportunities at the end of their program.
