National Community Crime Prevention Programme

The National Community Crime Prevention Programme was established in 2004. Funding of $65.5 million was provided over four years (to 30 June 2008) for a national community grants programme and another programme specifically for the Greater Western Sydney region. This amount included $6 million funding announced in September 2005 for security-related infrastructure, including Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems.

The NCCPP was designed to provide funding for grass roots projects designed to enhance community safety and crime prevention by: preventing or reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, improving community safety and security, and reducing the fear of crime.

All available NCCPP grant funding has now been awarded. If you would like any additional information on crime prevention matters, please provide your details (contact name, organisation name, telephone, e-mail and postal address) to the Australian Government Attorney-General’s Department via e-mail at crimeprevention@ag.gov.au or telephone (02) 6141 2711.
