Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA)

ACICA deals primarily with the arbitration of international trade disputes. Services include nominations of arbitrators and mediators, hearing rooms, transcription and information on arbitration law and practice.

Australian Commercial Disputes Centre (ACDC)

ACDC provides a variety of services in arbitration and ADR, including case management, access to a range of independent dispute resolution panels and hearings facilities. It is now linked with ACICA to become a national centre for international arbitration and mediation in Australia. ACDC also provides the Asia Pacific Registry for the London Court of International Arbitration.

Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb)

CIArb Australia is a professional body dedicated to the promotion, facilitation and determination of disputes by arbitration, mediation and conciliation. The Institute provides education and training programs for potential and practising arbitrators, panel of arbitrators and mediators with expertise in specific fields and an appointment and nomination service of suitably qualified persons to act as arbitrators, mediators and expert witnesses.

Dispute Resolution Centre

The Dispute Resolution Centre is based in the Faculty of Law, Bond University, and has a national and international reputation in training, teaching, research and mediation practice. Its members teach and train in undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing professional development programs, and publish the ADR Bulletin (hard copy) and Bond Dispute Resolution Newsletter (electronic).

Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia (IAMA)

IAMA is a national service provider that promotes and facilitates the resolution of disputes by arbitration, mediation and other forms of ADR. Services include the nomination of arbitrators, mediators, adjudicators, experts and conciliators; and the provision of hearing rooms and administration services including the provision of trust account arrangements. The national office is in Melbourne with chapter offices in each State and Territory and a dispute resolution centre in Sydney.

LEADR - Association of Dispute Resolvers

LEADR is a not-for-profit membership organisation that works to promote the use of ADR for community betterment. It is a recognised provider of dispute resolvers to government schemes and private organisations. It seeks to match the needs of the parties in dispute following consideration of the skills required, geographic convenience, process options and cost. Many of Australia and New Zealand's largest law firms source their dispute resolvers through LEADR.

The New South Wales Bar Association

The New South Wales Bar Association is a voluntary association primarily of practising NSW barristers. It has a permanent Mediation Committee and its Bar Council maintains a list of suitably qualified and experienced barristers for appointment to NSW courts as arbitrators or mediators. Member skills may include the provision of specialist international legal services, experience in international arbitrations and the ability to work in the nearby Asia-Pacific region.

The Victorian Bar

The Victorian Bar is an association of independent barristers based in Victoria. The Bar runs a Dispute Resolution Scheme, including accreditation of barristers as mediators or advanced mediators, and maintaining a purpose-built mediation facility (the Victorian Bar Mediation Centre). The Bar also maintains a current list of arbitrators in Victoria.
